Monday November 25th, the cleft lip and palate surgery project of this year 2024 started with the WKZ team led by Prof. Dr. Aeble Mink van der Molen, plastic surgeon. They will hold consultations all day today to select cleft lip and palate children who will be programmed to be operated on from tomorrow until Friday December 6th. The team also consists of Dr. Ilse Ceelie and Dr. Merel Völkers, anesthetists, Dr. Nirvana Kornmann, plastic surgeon in training, Ludovica Magni, final year medical student (she did her social medicine internship earlier this year). The team is also supported by Dr. Daniel Ombelet, he has now graduated and he also did his internship with us, Hanna, Hanneke, Femke and Jorik, the four final year nursing students and of course the Peruvian hospital staff, in the photo on the far right Dr. Mario Leon, medical director. They operate 3,4 cleft lip and palate children daily up to. Friday, December 6th.
