Jesus, 4 maanden oud, geboren met oa. Moebiussyndroom (een aangeboren verlamming hebben van de spieren die de bewegingen van het gezicht regelen), hidrocefalia (waterhoofd) waarvoor hij een drain heeft gekregen en x beentjes.Zijn moeder (alleenstaand en zonder werk) had contact gezocht via facebook voor hulp. Zij wonen op ruim 12 uur rijden van Arequipa in de provincie Cayollama. Afgelopen week kwamen zij aan in Arequipa en is hij gezien door de kinderarts en orthopeed. Afgelopen week is hij begonnen met fysiotherapie.
Afgelopen jaar was wel het meest vreemde en moeilijkste jaar uit ons bestaan op het moment dat de pandemie uitbrak en de maatregelen die in alle landen werden genomen. Wij moesten o.a. de 6 geplande operatieprojecten cancelen. Maar zoals altijd bracht het ook weer nieuwe mogelijkheden. Benieuwd wat we hebben gerealiseerd in het afgelopen jaar en wat onze plannen zijn voor 2021?
Wij willen 2021 dan ook goed beginnen, we nodigen u uit voor onze virtuele nieuwjaarsreceptie op donderdag 7 januari om 17.00 uur. Op deze manier willen we u en de andere donateurs, vrijwilligers en geintresseerden, graag ontmoeten .
Afgelopen weken hebben Dr.Gustavo Florez en Dr.Raul Rodriquez, 8 schisiskinderen geopereerd. Door de coronaviruscrisis kunnen we immers niet onze 6 geplande operatieprojecten voor dit jaar uitvoeren, maar dit is een fantastische oplossing voor de kinderen waar de lip van gesloten moest worden. Ondanks de moeilijkheden om een container te importeren in Peru, toch weer eentje aan het vullen. De medische apparatuur in Nederland, zij het tweedehands, is vele malen betaalbaar dan nieuw in Peru. Dus via veiling o.a. een echo-apparaat, een verlosbed, een lapariscopische toren, een coagulatie-apparaat etc. aangeschaft. Meer spullen voor de container 20 ft.naar Peru , is nog niet alles, wachten nog op de autoclave etc. En dan inkisten, nummeren etc.etc. Nu staat het bij Bode Verpakkingen in Hardinxveld-Giessendam. Helemaal top.
De coronacrisis is heftig in Peru , niet alleen veel doden en besmettingen, maar vooral ook veel werkelozen, nl. 4 miljoen en daardoor nu honger. Sinds mei delen wij wekelijks voedsel uit en de vraag wordt ieder week groter.
