Dr.Herman Bakker and Dr.Liem Lie, urologists, have operated on 35 children and more than 200 seen at the consultation hours in the past two weeks. In Arequipa are no pediatric urologists, only in the Hospital de Nino in Lima are two pediatric urologists employed. The above results clearly indicate the necessity of keeping this project again, also in view of the high rate of birth defects in children in the south of Peru. In August, the second urological project is planned and we already have 6 children on the waiting list for surgery.Dr.Herman Bakker y Dr.Liem Lie, urologos, han operado 35 niños y más de 200 visto en la consulta en las últimas dos semanas. Arequipa no hay urólogos pediátricos, sólo en el Hospital de Niño en Lima dos urólogos pediátricos empleadas. Los resultados anteriores indican claramente la necesidad de mantener este proyecto de nuevo, también en vista de la alta tasa de defectos de nacimiento en los niños en el sur de Perú. En agosto, se prevé el segundo proyecto urológica y ya tenemos 6 niños en lista de espera para su cirugía.Dr.Herman Bakker en Dr.Liem Lie, urologen, hebben 35 kinderen geopereerd en ruim 200 gezien op de spreekuren in de afgelopen twee weken. In Arequipa zijn helaas geen kinderurologen, slechts in het Hospital de Nino in Lima zijn twee kinderurologen werkzaam. De bovenstaande resultaten geven duidelijk de noodzaak van het houden van dit project weer, ook mede gezien het hoge percentage geboorte-afwijkingen bij kinderen in het Zuiden van Peru. In augustus staat het tweede urologische project gepland en hebben we reeds 6 kinderen op de wachtlijst om een operatie te ondergaan.
