Onder grote belangstelling van locale en buitenlandse gasten werd op dinsdag 23 september j.l. door de President van de Gobierno Regional, Juan Manuel Guillen en Dr.Paul Knegt, Secretaris stichting Fundacion PAZ-Holandesa, de openingshandeling verricht van de eerste fase van het kinderziekenhuis ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ in Arequipa. Vanaf januari zal deze eerste fase, welke bestaat uit de polikliniek, receptie, administratie en multifunctionele ruimte, gaan functioneren. De overige gebouwen zijnde de kliniek, het operatiecomplex en facilitaire diensten, zullen naar alle waarschijnlijkheid in april 2009 geopend worden.

The remaining bldg. are the clinic, the operation complex and facilitaire services, in April 2009 will become opened by all odds.
Con gran interés de los autoridades y publico en general locales y extranjeros el martes 23 de septiembre el presidente del Gobierno Regional de Arequipa, Don Juan Manuel Guillen y el Dr.Paul Knegt, Secretario de la Fundación PAZ-Holandesa, Inauguraron la primera fase del hospital de niños ‘ Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ en Arequipa. A partir de enero esta primera fase, que incluye el policlinico, la recepción, la administración y el espacio multiusos, funcionará. Los edificios restantes son la clínica, el complejo de operación y los servicios del facilitación, el proximo año aperturaremos todos los edificios.
On tuesday 23th of September 2008, the first part of the `Tony Molleapaza Rojas´Disability Hospital will be opened in Arequipa, in the South of Peru. This hospital will aim specifically at physical disabled children. The child hospital is an initiative of the cooperating NGOs foundation Paz-Holandesa (the Netherlands) and the Asociación Paz-Holandesa (Peru). Both organisations are already 8 years as cooperation partners active in the Peruvian health care sector. Construction has started in October 2006.
The vision of the PAZ-Holandesa ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’Children Disability Hospital is to facilitate that disabled children in Peru, regardless of their socio-economic status, have access to high quality, comprehensive and equitable care and rehabilitation. The PAZ-Holandesa ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ Children Disability Hospital aims to provide a model of an urban hospital in Peru that is accessible to rich and poor. PAZ-Holandesa develops appropriate, accessible and sustainable health care systems and also trains management and other staff for programs that share the same aims.

The Name
The name of the child hospital has been borrowed from the Peruvian little boy Tony Molleapaza Rojas. He died on 31 January 2005 on person whose birthday it isperson whose birthday it is person whose birthday it is age to youth cancer. It is our thus an honour its name be allowed link to this particular child hospital.En setiembre 2008 se prevé inaugurar en la ciudad de Arequipa en el Perú, el Hospital infantil ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ que se dirigirá especialmente a los niños con discapacidad física. Este hospital infantil es una iniciativa conjunta de dos organizaciones non gubernamentales, la Fundación PAZ Holandesa (Los Países Bajos) y la Asociación PAZ-Holandesa (Perú). Desde hace más de siete años, estas dos organizaciones trabajan como asociados en el sector de salud de Perú.
A través del Hospital Infantil Tony Molleapaza Rojas’, PAZ-Holandesa prestará una asistencia sanitaria amplia y rehabilitación apropiada de alta calidad a los niños con discapacidad. La prestación de esta asistencia sanitaria se basa en el principio de igualdad, sin consideración de la situación socio-económica. El Hospital Infantil ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ se compromete a ser un hospital modelo para los demás hospitales urbanos en Perú, que será accesible a cualquier ciudadano, independientemente de los recursos económicos de éste.
Para alcanzar este objetivo, PAZ-Holandesa desarrollará desde el Hospital Infantil ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ instrumentos médicos especiales que serán tanto accesibles como sostenibles. PAZ-Holandesa proporcionará también capacitación a nivel de directivos, médicos y enfermeros, a proyectos y organizaciones asociadas.

El Nombre
El hospital infantil lleva el nombre del muchacho peruano Tony Molleapaza Rojas que, a los 11 años, murió el 31 de enero de 2005 de cáncer juvenil. Durante los años que PAZ-Holandesa trataba a Tony, éste impresionó a todos por su afán de luchar contra su enfermedad y su incesante actitud positiva y sentido social. Para nosotros, es un gran honor poder otorgar su nombre a este hospital infantil especial.
Es el objeto final de PAZ-Holandesa tender un puente sobre el abismo que existe en el sector sanitario peruano, especialmente para los niños con discapacidad congénita que no disponen de los recursos financieros necesarios para un tratamiento.Na de donatie van 6000m2 grond voor 99 jaar in 2005 aan de As.PAZ-Holandesa door de gemeente Paucarpata (Arequipa), ontwierp EGM Architecten het ziekenhuis, op 15 augustus 2006 kon de eerste steen gelegd worden en op 15 oktober 2006 werd met de bouw begonnen.
Het hele jaar 2007 is er gebouwd aan het ziekenhuis dat uit tien paviljoens bestaat. De planning is gedurende het jaar vele malen bijgesteld. Dit werd o.a. veroorzaakt door het ontbreken van de juiste technische kennis locaal en er moest dan ook frequent overleg gepleegd worden met Nederlandse experts om niet alleen de informatie te verkrijgen maar ook duidelijke technische tekeningen. Gezien het tijdsverschil, de afstand en het niet ter plaatse kunnen bekijken van de situatie, zorgde dit voor veel vertraging.
Dankzij de steun van fondsen, sponsors en particuliere zal de eerste fase van het ziekenhuis op 23 september a.s. geopend worden. Deze bestaat uit de polikliniek, receptie en administratie. De overige gebouwen zijn dan wel cascoklaar, maar zullen afhankelijk van de volbrenging van de financiering, in de maanden daarop volgend verder ingericht – en in gebruik worden genomen.

De Naam
De naam van het kinderziekenhuis is ontleend aan het Peruaanse jongetje Tony Molleapaza Rojas. Hij overleed op 31 januari 2005 op 11-jarige leeftijd aan jeugdkanker. Tony heeft in de jaren dat hij bij PAZ-Holandesa onder behandeling was een onuitwisbare indruk achtergelaten met zijn enorme drijfveer om tegen zijn ziekte te vechten en zijn immer aanhoudende positivisme en sociale gevoel. Het is ons dan ook een eer om zijn naam te mogen verbinden aan dit bijzondere kinderziekenhuis.
De missie:
(Gehandicapte) kinderen in Peru worden meer en meer buitengesloten van de maatschappij.
De oorzaak is te herleiden tot het feit dat deze kinderen geen financiële middelen hebben. Daar komt bij, dat het verzekeringssysteem SIS de kosten voor aangeboren afwijkingen niet dekt. De kinderen hebben geen toegang tot medische zorg, geschikte voorlichting, begeleiding en educatie en zijn dan ook niet in staat een sociaal en financieel onafhankelijk leven na te bereiken. Met andere woorden, zij zullen zich in extreme armoede en ongezonde toestand blijven bevinden.
PAZ-Holandesa zet zich met de realisatie van het ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas´ Kinderziekenhuis in om
deze schrijnende situatie van een gepaste en effectieve oplossing te voorzien.
Het uiteindelijke doel van PAZ-Holandesa is het dichten van de kloof die er bestaat binnen de
Peruaanse gezondheidssector, in het bijzonder voor kinderen met aangeboren afwijkingen (en)
zonder financiële middelen.
De diensten worden verleend aan zowel armen als aan middenklasse patiënten, tegen verschillende
tarieven. De inkomsten die uit de patiëntenzorg worden gegenereerd worden volledig geïnvesteerd
in het kinderziekenhuis.
Binnen 10 jaar beoogt het ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas´ Kinderziekenhuis en haar projecten onafhankelijk van fondsen en overige steunverleners te opereren.
