Vandaag werd bij alle geselecteerde kinderen voor het a.s. operatieproject, welke 20 oktober van start gaat, bloed afgenomen. De wachtkamer zat vol en zoals dat gaat met bloedprikken, uiteraard veel gehuil.
Maar het leed was gelukkig snel geleden, want na de vervelende prik, kreeg ieder kind een speeltje en dan is de aandacht afgeleidt.Vanaf dinsdag 21 oktober tot en met vrijdag 31 oktober zal het team o.l.v. Dr.Reinier van Twisk, plastisch chirurg, ruim 50 kinderen opereren.
50 Kinderen die een hazelip, een open gehemelte of brandwonden hebben en niet over geld beschikken om een operatie te ondergaan. Wij helpen hen gratis, niet alleen hun benodigde operatie (s) maar ook de gehele nazorg.A pesar de la gran agitación de construir el hospital, continuamos con nuestros proyectos. Gisteren was het dan zover, de opening van de eerste fase van het ziekenhuis. En ik mag wel zeggen het was een succes. Ruim 200 gasten waaronder de Ambassadeur van Nederland in Peru, de secretaris van de stichting Fundacion PAZ-Holandesa uit Nederland, de architecten van EGM, Forbo, Drager Medical en natuurlijk vele Peruaanse autoriteiten. Zoals eerder geschreven de afbouw van de gebouwen, welke werden geopend, konden niet geheel afgemaakt worden. Mede veroorzaakt door de gebruikelijke douaneproblemen om de containers vrij te krijgen. Maar het heeft de pret absoluut niet gedrukt, want het zag er prachtig uit en iedereen, zeker de Peruanen, waren zeer onder de indruk. Dit ziekenhuis ziet er dan ook totaal anders uit dan wat men gewend is en dat is de bedoeling.
Fraaie en hartverwarmende speeches werden er gehouden door o.a. Dr.Paul Knegt, Dr.Bellido, Dr.Juan Manuel Guillen en de ambassadeur, die spontaan het woord vroeg. Natuurlijk was er ruimte voor onze patientjes om een dansje, een liedje en zelfs een speech te houden. En om de kinderen gaat het en om niemand anders.
Tijdens het openingsdiner mocht ik een fantastische cheque van 25.000 euro ontvangen van EGM Architecten en het Erasmus MC!!
Al met al een superdag en gaan we de komende tijd hard aan de slag om het gehele ziekenhuis af te bouwen en daarna, het belangrijkste nl. het functioneren. Más de 200 invitados entre quienes se encontraba el Embajador de los Países Bajos en Perú, el secretario de la fundación Fundacion PAZ-Holandesa de los Países Bajos, los arquitectos de EGM, de Forbo, Drager Medical y por supuesto muchas autoridades peruanas. Como he escrito antes los edificios no estuvieron completamente terminados antes de la inauguración. Debido a los problemas de las autoridades aduaneras con los containers. Pero él que no tengamos todo completo no afecto la felicidad de este evento, Todos los invitados mayoritariamente peruanos se quedaron muy impresionados con los logros. Este hospital es totamente diferentemente tanto en apariencia como en desempeño aqui en Perú, que es exactamente lo que intentamos. Grandes y muy profundos discursos desde el corazón fueron pronunciados por autoridades e invitados el Dr.Paul Knegt, Dr.Bellido, Dr.Juan Manuel Guillen y el Embajador, que pidieron la palabra espontáneamente. Por supuesto había espacio para una danza de nuestros pacientes, una canción e incluso un discurso que es un fiel testimonio de los beneficios de la ayuda proveida.
¡Durante el la cena de apertura recibimos un cheque fantástico de 25.000 euros de los arquitectos de EGM y del Erasmus MC!! Cosiderándolo todo un día estupendo. Nosotros regresamos a trabajar en la siguiente etapa para finalizar la construccion, y asi llegar a la fase mas importante, el funcionamiento dia a dia.Yesterday, the moment arrived to which we have been working, the opening of the first phase of the hospital. And I can say, it was a success. More than 200 guests were present. Among them the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Peru, the secretary of the foundation Fundacion PAZ-Holandesa from the Netherlands, the architects of EGM, Forbo, Drager Medical and of course many Peruvian authorities. As I wrote before, the buildings could not be entirey finished before the opening. This was due to the usual customs authorities problems, preventing clearance of the containers. This did not spoil the party at all, as everything looked beautiful. All present and certainly Peruvians, were very impressed with the achievements. This hospital is entirely different in its appearance than what is the custom here in Peru, and that is exactly as intended. Great and heartwarming speeches were given byamong others, Dr.Paul Knegt, Dr.Bellido, Dr.Juan Manuel Guillen and the ambassador, who asked the word spontaneously. Of course there was room and time for the children patients, as it is about them. They performed a dance, song and even gave a speech. Which is a true testimony to the benefits of the treatment provided.
During the opening diner I received a fantastic cheque of 25,000 euro from EGM Architects and the Erasmus MC!! All in all it was a super day. We go back to work in the coming period to finish the construction and then move into the most important phase; operating day to day.
On tuesday 23th of September 2008, the first part of the `Tony Molleapaza Rojas´Disability Hospital will be opened in Arequipa, in the South of Peru. This hospital will aim specifically at physical disabled children. The child hospital is an initiative of the cooperating NGOs foundation Paz-Holandesa (the Netherlands) and the Asociación Paz-Holandesa (Peru). Both organisations are already 8 years as cooperation partners active in the Peruvian health care sector. Construction has started in October 2006.
The vision of the PAZ-Holandesa ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’Children Disability Hospital is to facilitate that disabled children in Peru, regardless of their socio-economic status, have access to high quality, comprehensive and equitable care and rehabilitation. The PAZ-Holandesa ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ Children Disability Hospital aims to provide a model of an urban hospital in Peru that is accessible to rich and poor. PAZ-Holandesa develops appropriate, accessible and sustainable health care systems and also trains management and other staff for programs that share the same aims.

The Name
The name of the child hospital has been borrowed from the Peruvian little boy Tony Molleapaza Rojas. Este hospital infantil es una iniciativa conjunta de dos organizaciones non gubernamentales, la Fundación PAZ Holandesa (Los Países Bajos) y la Asociación PAZ-Holandesa (Perú). Desde hace más de siete años, estas dos organizaciones trabajan como asociados en el sector de salud de Perú.
A través del Hospital Infantil Tony Molleapaza Rojas’, PAZ-Holandesa prestará una asistencia sanitaria amplia y rehabilitación apropiada de alta calidad a los niños con discapacidad. La prestación de esta asistencia sanitaria se basa en el principio de igualdad, sin consideración de la situación socio-económica. El Hospital Infantil ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ se compromete a ser un hospital modelo para los demás hospitales urbanos en Perú, que será accesible a cualquier ciudadano, independientemente de los recursos económicos de éste.
Para alcanzar este objetivo, PAZ-Holandesa desarrollará desde el Hospital Infantil ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas’ instrumentos médicos especiales que serán tanto accesibles como sostenibles. El Nombre
El hospital infantil lleva el nombre del muchacho peruano Tony Molleapaza Rojas que, a los 11 años, murió el 31 de enero de 2005 de cáncer juvenil. Durante los años que PAZ-Holandesa trataba a Tony, éste impresionó a todos por su afán de luchar contra su enfermedad y su incesante actitud positiva y sentido social. Para nosotros, es un gran honor poder otorgar su nombre a este hospital infantil especial.
Es el objeto final de PAZ-Holandesa tender un puente sobre el abismo que existe en el sector sanitario peruano, especialmente para los niños con discapacidad congénita que no disponen de los recursos financieros necesarios para un tratamiento.Na de donatie van 6000m2 grond voor 99 jaar in 2005 aan de As.PAZ-Holandesa door de gemeente Paucarpata (Arequipa), ontwierp EGM Architecten het ziekenhuis, op 15 augustus 2006 kon de eerste steen gelegd worden en op 15 oktober 2006 werd met de bouw begonnen.
Het hele jaar 2007 is er gebouwd aan het ziekenhuis dat uit tien paviljoens bestaat. De planning is gedurende het jaar vele malen bijgesteld. Dit werd o.a. veroorzaakt door het ontbreken van de juiste technische kennis locaal en er moest dan ook frequent overleg gepleegd worden met Nederlandse experts om niet alleen de informatie te verkrijgen maar ook duidelijke technische tekeningen. Gezien het tijdsverschil, de afstand en het niet ter plaatse kunnen bekijken van de situatie, zorgde dit voor veel vertraging.
Dankzij de steun van fondsen, sponsors en particuliere zal de eerste fase van het ziekenhuis op 23 september a.s. geopend worden. Deze bestaat uit de polikliniek, receptie en administratie. De overige gebouwen zijn dan wel cascoklaar, maar zullen afhankelijk van de volbrenging van de financiering, in de maanden daarop volgend verder ingericht – en in gebruik worden genomen.

De Naam
De naam van het kinderziekenhuis is ontleend aan het Peruaanse jongetje Tony Molleapaza Rojas. Hij overleed op 31 januari 2005 op 11-jarige leeftijd aan jeugdkanker. Tony heeft in de jaren dat hij bij PAZ-Holandesa onder behandeling was een onuitwisbare indruk achtergelaten met zijn enorme drijfveer om tegen zijn ziekte te vechten en zijn immer aanhoudende positivisme en sociale gevoel. Het is ons dan ook een eer om zijn naam te mogen verbinden aan dit bijzondere kinderziekenhuis.
De missie:
(Gehandicapte) kinderen in Peru worden meer en meer buitengesloten van de maatschappij.
De oorzaak is te herleiden tot het feit dat deze kinderen geen financiële middelen hebben. Daar komt bij, dat het verzekeringssysteem SIS de kosten voor aangeboren afwijkingen niet dekt. De kinderen hebben geen toegang tot medische zorg, geschikte voorlichting, begeleiding en educatie en zijn dan ook niet in staat een sociaal en financieel onafhankelijk leven na te bereiken. Met andere woorden, zij zullen zich in extreme armoede en ongezonde toestand blijven bevinden.
PAZ-Holandesa zet zich met de realisatie van het ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas´ Kinderziekenhuis in om
deze schrijnende situatie van een gepaste en effectieve oplossing te voorzien.
Het uiteindelijke doel van PAZ-Holandesa is het dichten van de kloof die er bestaat binnen de
Peruaanse gezondheidssector, in het bijzonder voor kinderen met aangeboren afwijkingen (en)
zonder financiële middelen.
De diensten worden verleend aan zowel armen als aan middenklasse patiënten, tegen verschillende
tarieven. De inkomsten die uit de patiëntenzorg worden gegenereerd worden volledig geïnvesteerd
in het kinderziekenhuis.
Binnen 10 jaar beoogt het ‘Tony Molleapaza Rojas´ Kinderziekenhuis en haar projecten onafhankelijk van fondsen en overige steunverleners te opereren.
The plastic-surgical operation projects will take place in the months of October and November. The first will take place of Monday 20 October up to and including Friday 30 October. Dr.Reinier van Twisk and its team will operate approximately 50 children. Of Monday 17 November up to Friday 28 November Dr.Ron Hiles and come its team children also 50 will operate. Chavez de la Rosa
Het kindertehuis ligt in het centrum van de stad en valt onder het beheer van de afdeling liefdadigheid van de gemeente Arequipa. Het bijna 80 jaar oude complex bestaat uit een lagere school, een kerk, een gaarkeuken en het kindertehuis. In mei 2001 zijn wij gestart met het doneren van voedsel om zo de slechte medische situatie van de kinderen te verbeteren. De toenemende vraag om hulp i.v.m. de armoede maakt het niet makkelijk voor de gemeente Arequipa. De algemene slechte economische situatie zorgt niet bepaald voor meer inkomsten.
Het aantal te vondelgelegde of weeskinderen is het laatste jaar explosief gestegen. Meer dan 80 kinderen wonen nu in het tehuis. Buiten het verstrekken van voedsel, houden wij ook 1x per week spreekuur en ontvangen alle kinderen gratis tandverzorging in de kinderpolikliniek.
Sabandya
Het kindertehuis Sabandya ligt enkele kilometers buiten Arequipa. Hier wonen ruim 25 geestelijk en/of lichamelijke gehandicapte kinderen in de leeftijd van 4 tot 18 jr. Zij worden verzorgd door vrijwilligers. Het kindertehuis is afhankelijk van particuliere steun.Chavez de la Rosa
The children’s home lies in the centre of the city and falls under the management of the department benevolence of the municipality Arequipa. The almost 80 years old complex exist from an elementary school, a church, a done kitchen and the children’s home. In May 2001 we have started with the donations of food to improve in this way the bad medical situation of the children. The increasing question for aid concerning the poverty does not make it easy for the municipality Arequipa. The general bad economic situation does not ensure certain more income. The number of orphan children has increased the last year explosive. More than 80 children live now in the home. Beside supplying food, we keeping once a week medical attention hours and all children receive dental care in our policlinic.
Sabandya
The children’s home Sabandya lies some kilometres Arequipa. Because of this live wide 25 mentally and/or physical disabled children in the age of 4 to 18 Jr. they are looked after volunteers. The children’s home depends on private support.Chavez de la Rosa
El hogar de Chavez de la Rosa miente en el centro de la ciudad y cae bajo gerencia de la benevolencia del departamento del municipio Arequipa. Los casi 80 años del complejo existen de una escuela primaria, de una iglesia, de una cocina hecha y del children’ hogar de s. En mayo de 2001 hemos comenzado con las donaciones del alimento a mejorar de esta manera la mala situación médica de los niños. La pregunta cada vez mayor para la ayuda referente a la pobreza no hace fácil para el municipio Arequipa. La mala situación económica general no asegura cierta más renta. El número de niños huérfanos ha aumentado el explosivo del año pasado. Más de 80 niños ahora viven en el hogar. Al lado del alimento de abastecimiento, que guardan una vez por semana horas de la atención médica y a todos los niños recibimos cuidado dental en nuestro policlinico.
Sabandya
El hogar de Sabandya casero miente algunos kilómetros Arequipa. Debido a estos de par en par 25 vivos mentalmente y/o niños minusválidos físicos en la edad del Jr. 4 a 18 son voluntarios ocupados. El children’ el hogar de s depende de ayuda privada.
