By the end of august I wrote concerning Rosa and its parents Juiliaca. At research she appeared not only an harelip, but also having a heart deviation. Fortunately there was an American team of heart specialists in Arequipa in September, so that she was operated in their operation project. Outside this project of Cardiostart it isn’t possible undergo a heart operation for children. Only in the Hospital the Niños in Lima these operations are performed, however an almost impossible task for the parents from the province to intervene there.
After its heart operation in September, Rosa and her mother could stay in the hotel Los Pinguiños of the Dutch owner res Alex at Bouwhuys. There was it possible she in all rest and with sufficient food recover to undergo the harelip correction. She was really undernourished and had to grow, what happened thanks to the good care of Alex. Now she has recovered she can return with her mother to Juiliaca.Eind augustus schreef ik over Rosa en haar ouders uit Juiliaca. Bij onderzoek bleek zij niet alleen een hazelip te hebben, maar ook een hartafwijking. Gelukkig was er net in september een Amerikaans team van hartspecialisten in Arequipa, zodat zij in hun operatieproject geopereerd werd. Buiten dit project van Cardiostart is het niet mogelijk een hartoperatie voor kinderen te ondergaan. Alleen in het Hospital de Niños in Lima worden deze operaties verricht, echter een bijna onmogelijke opgave voor de ouders vanuit de provincie om daar tussen te komen.
Na haar hartoperatie in september, mochten Rosa en haar moeder in het hotel Los Pinguiños verblijven van de Nederlandse eigenares Alex ten Bouwhuys. Daar kon ze in alle rust en met voldoende eten bijkomen om de hazelipcorrectie te ondergaan. Zij was ondervoed en moest echt aankomen, wat dankzij de goede zorgen van Alex ook gebeurde. Nu is zij zo opgeknapt dat ze samen met haar moeder terug naar huis mag.
